The Best White T-shirts
I have an encyclopedia of clothing in my brain. It sounds weird, but it is the only way I can describe it. In the past few weeks I feel like I have been asked quite often to turn to the mental page of the "best white t-shirts", so I thought I should get them out of my head and out to you. Thus, this blog post was born. While there are a million different styles, I focused on the open neckline designs since they are universally the most flattering cuts (as are the round hem found on a bunch of these). Here they are from lowest to highest cost... RW - versatile and inexpensivePrice: $35 or 2 for 25Fabric:Viscose and ElastaneIf you are looking for a slimmer fit in a fabric that can be dressed up or down, this is a great option. Talbots - quality fabrics and above average sizingPrice: $24Fabric: Pima cottonI know that Talbots can get a bad rap, but they use great fabrics and have awesome basics. A good example is these Pima cotton tees.
Oak and Fort - slouchy and casualPrice: $32Fabric: Cotton, modal and spandexIf you want a slouchier, more casual fit, then Oak and Fort has some good options. Try is with a side or front tuck to limit some of the bulk
Madewell- tees with pocketsPrice: $35Fabric: CottonI'm not a huge fan of pockets on t-shirts (they are so rarely done well and they can visually create a droopy boob look), but if you want a casual pocket tee that does it right, then I would check out Madewell. Loft also has a good option for this, but their stock online is low.
Gentle Fawn - rounded hemPrice: $40Fabric: Polyester and rayonWhile I don't always love how polyester breathes, I do like that I don't have to worry about ironing it. This tee also gets points for its really universally flattering hem and neckline.
Miik-bamboo tailored tees$45Rayon from bamboo and lycraThese are nice tees for laying since they breathe so well or if you want a tighter more form fitting tee.Logan and Finley has a good selection and they offer discounts to my clients as well.
Halogen at Nordstrom - thicker fabricPrice: $45Fabric: Modal and spandexI like the weight of these tees. They drape really nicely and aren't see through like so many t-shirts are!
Franc - amazing white teePrice: $49Fabric: Bamboo, cotton and spandex jerseyWinner winner chicken dinner. This is my favourite t-shirt. The cut is perfect, the fabric is amazing and the weight is great. Plus they are local and when we told them we loved them they offered a discount to my clients!
James Perse- super lightweightPrice: $89Fabric: CottonI love how lightweight James Perse is. They really are the queen of basics. You can find them on sale at Nordstrom Rack sometimes as well.
Majestic - good layering piecePrice: $120Fabric: Viscose and ElastaneMajestic does have basics that feel like butter on rose petals, but I suggest trying a similar fabric composition (Like RW and Co or Miik) before pulling the trigger. If you try them both and still love Majestic then go for it.
I also liked the Tandis at Aritzia; however they don't seem to have many in stock right now Have a favourite I missed? Let me know about it!
