Style Icon: Audrey Hepburn

This week's post takes it back to someone who's truly a style icon in every sense of the word: the lovely, the classic, the elegant Audrey Hepburn. Hepburn's chic, simple style has lasted decades, beyond her years, her looks having influenced contemporary fashion and been emulated by just about every girl ever. She's genuinely, without a doubt, iconic.

Hepburn's wardrobe choices were simple and very wearable, which is why we think they were and continue to be so appealing. Her favourite clothing items are ones you can wear any and every day: the classic black turtleneck paired with cigarette pants and ballet flats; the casual yet ever-stylish striped shirt; the crisp white button down shirt with black pants

that just screams chic; oversized shirts paired with high-waisted shorts continue to be popular at this very moment; and, last but certainly never least, the uncomplicated black dress she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's that helped give rise to the timeless LBD, a dress that every woman has (or should have!) on standby for parties. In these simple, everyday basics, Hepburn radiated grace, taste and pure loveliness, making her style one sought after for years and years. And years.

So the next time you've no idea what to wear or are feeling uninspired, just remember that you can never go wrong with something like a simple black shirt and jeans, a la Audrey Hepburn, style icon, herself. Just slip on a pair of classic ballet flats and some oversize sunglasses and go. Classic chic done right.
